The following is a little bit about who we are:
Restore Austin, was birthed out of Austin New Church. It is the result of a church that desired to live beyond its own four walls and partner for the good of the individual, collective, and social renewal of Austin. The leaders of Austin New Church began to ask, “what would this look like if we moved beyond us, and partnered with other churches and local non-profits to be part of a movement of restoration?” The response to that question was, ‘Restore Austin‘.
The mission of Restore Austin is to help catalyze a movement for the individual, collective, and social renewal of Austin.
We hope to see this accomplished as we seek to help educate the local church on issues of poverty, injustice, and local humanitarian needs; mobilize the local church to partner with non-profit organizations who are already furthering the mission of mercy, compassion, and justice to humanity; and to become a voice for those who have lost theirs.
We envision a movement of individuals, churches, and non-profit organizations as one collective force battling injustice, poverty, and ignorance.
RestorAustin’s primary purpose is to partner with local and global non-profits for the individual, collective and social renewal of Austin.
We plan on doing this through five practical avenues:
The following is a set of our core beliefs:
We believe . . . the God of the Bible created all of humanity in His image, therefore, we believe it is our responsibility to honor all of humanity by seeking to restore dignity, hope, and equality to those who live without it.
We believe . . . the God of the Bible is a God of justice no matter your race, orientation, religious affiliation or political views, therefore we believe it is our responsibility to seek to aid the administration of justice where injustice is prevalent.
We believe . . . the God of the Bible is a God of love and grace, therefore we believe it is our responsibility love all of humanity no matter their race, orientation, religious affiliation or political views, and give grace to those who need a second chance.
We believe . . . the God of the Bible rescued humanity through the life and death of son, Jesus, therefore we believe it is our responsibility to mirror this same sacrificial love by aiding the efforts of various organizations to rescue those who suffer at the hands of slavery, injustice, ignorance and oppression.
We believe . . . the God of the Bible seeks to heal the broken hearted, therefore we believe it is our responsibility to further and aid the efforts of various organizations that seek to heal those who have been victimized by abuse and loneliness.
