Human Trafficking
Austin New Church and Restore Austin has partnered up with local and global non-profit organizations like HELP, Not For Sale, SCTNow, Trade In Hope, and more to join the battle against trafficking and human slavery in the world. Along with that, we have partnered with Not For Sale to begin a a campaign called FINISH IT! As this relationship develops this page will be used to raise awareness, educate, and assist you in personally engaging in the fight against human slavery and trafficking.
We are planning several events to help you in joining in the fight against Trafficking. Our plan, beginning with a Hands that Heal training October 8th/9th another unannounced event in December and Freedom Sunday in March of 2011 is to partner with these different organizations to help equip Austinites to better engage in the fight.
Until these events happen, if your question is: “What can I do NOW to be involved?” Let us recommend a few options:
1) Commit to personally expanding your own understanding of the issue:

- Subscribe to the Underground
2) Involve others by taking a small group through the: N4S Small Group Curriculum (it would be good to use this curriculum to either lead your group up to Freedom Sunday or use Freedom Sunday as the spring board to lead them into this study)
3) Weave your favorite Hobby with being an abolitionist:

6) Remember, though this is a huge problem, we can make a difference, we can change the tide…it just takes one person who believes that these 27 million slaves are not disposable, but are children of God just as you are. It only takes one person who is convicted to the point of movement…be that person!
